Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot recommend Gautam highly enough. He has been an exceptional A-Level tutor and genuinely one of the best teachers my son has had. His ability to explain difficult concepts, build confidence and develop strong exam technique is outstanding. My son achieved an A*, and Gautam played a huge part in helping him reach that result. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication and support. An absolutely brilliant teacher!

Praise to god I achieved an A* this year scoring 94 in one of my papers and I wouldn’t have done that without the help of Gautam having consistent weekly sessions allowed me to ask questions in as much depth as possible to really get a grasp of the content and having his A* notes to refer to really payed off !!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gautam is an excellent tutor. He has tutored 2 of my daughters, and they could not have done as well without his support. Gautam was recommended by a friend who had a similar experience. We have since recommended him. All these students have secured A* in Chemistry at A-level. This speaks volume of his teaching skills! Very approachable.

Why are your tutoring rates higher than some others?

By having fewer tutees, I offer a more personalised service, vital for maintaining student motivation and mental health. With over 20 years of experience, my comprehensive package includes personalised resources and assistance between sessions. My students consistently achieve top grades and benefit across all subjects. You don’t need to commit long-term or pay upfront for unreceived lessons. Success stories and testimonials can attest to the value I provide. Many of my tutees say they enjoy my lessons and learn much more than in their regular school classes.

Do you set homework?

Yes, but it’s designed to complement what you’re already doing at school. I focus on providing high-quality, targeted exam questions that will help you understand and master key concepts. This approach ensures you’re well-prepared without feeling overwhelmed. We can also go over any challenging questions during our sessions.

I'm resitting Chemistry can you help?

A lot of my current and past tutees got a low grade at A level and are on track for / achieved an A or even A*. As i’m usually fully booked for evenings extremely quickly, resit students have a better chance than most at getting a suitable timeslot.

I'm struggling significantly with Chemistry. Can I still benefit from your tutoring?

Absolutely. Many of my previous tutees have seen their grades improve significantly under my guidance, with some jumping from a D in year 12 mocks to an A in final exams. Significant improvements often result from consistent weekly work guided by me, with a commitment to working between sessions being essential.

How have your past students performed in their exams?

In 2023, all my year 13 students achieved the highest grade. Historically, most of my tutees have seen significant improvements in their grades. In my 6th form college job, my results were consistently outstanding.

Why do you only tutor A-Level Chemistry and not other subjects or levels?

I believe in being a master in one domain rather than a jack of all trades. Focusing solely on A-Level Chemistry allows me to provide the highest level of expertise and tailored resources to my students. While I have tutored/taught other courses like Chemistry Pre-U, AEA, and IB in the past, I currently focus on A-Level Chemistry.

What availability do you have?

For my current availability, please refer to this link. If none of those times suit you, I encourage you to get in touch. Some tutees, especially those resitting their A-levels, have expressed flexibility with their slots and might adjust their time to accommodate new students. I only take on weekly tutees but you aren’t required to commit long term.

What if I need help outside of our scheduled tutoring sessions?

I provide support between sessions, ensuring that my students have assistance whenever needed. Additionally, I offer a shared drive with personalised resources, some pre-recorded lessons, and more to aid in your studies. New for 2025 onwards I have built an online learning platform included in the price. Most of my current tutees use it a lot, many even use it to help with their Biology too, some instead of getting a biology tutor.

Do you only tutor students studying AQA and OCR syllabuses?

I specialise in the AQA and OCR-A syllabuses, my focus is on excelling in these syllabuses and developing top-tier resources specifically for OCR-A and AQA

I'm worried about online tutoring. How effective is it compared to face-to-face sessions?

Online tutoring has proven to be just as effective, probably more so, than traditional face-to-face sessions for many students. I’m fully equipped to provide online sessions, ensuring that each student receives the same quality of education and attention. Many testimonials and case studies attest to the effectiveness of my online tutoring setup. For face to face tutoring you’d need to be geographically close to me at Hillside, Nottingham, NG7 2HP.

Can you assist with university applications?

Yes, if requested I can assist with UCAS applications, entrance exams, study skills, exam techniques, and more. Many parents appreciate how I elevate students’ aspirations and guide them in meeting their university offers.

Are there any hidden fees or costs in addition to the tutoring rates?

My rates are transparent and encompass all the resources, support, and expertise I provide. There are no hidden fees.
